Book Review: Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell

"Tomorrow is another day"

This is the story of Scarlet O' Hara, a beautiful southern belle and Captain Rhett Butler, a dashing soldier of fortune. Scarlet had everything in life until the war. She is strong and ruthless. She always gets what she wants and doesn't care what people think. She loves attention and wants every man to be wrapped around her finger. She loves to steal other girls beau and consider herself as the most beautiful southern girl. Captain Rhett Butler always thinks of making money. He is handsome, rich, strong and he is  dream of every girl. Yet the southern girls have no interest in him. He has a very bad reputation. Scarlet and Rhett are perfect for each other but they have different opinions and this whole story is about how they realize that they are made for each other.

There are many characters in this story. Among them is Ashley Wilkinson and Melanie Hamilton. The story revolves round these 4 characters.

This is historical fiction set up during American Civil War. This story shows the transformation of people during and after the civil war. Its about love, loss, change and being strong.

I loved the writing. The author explained in details regarding the American Civil War and its courses. The characters are amazing. I liked how the characters change as the story progressed

People do change in course of time due to the situation and often forget who they really are. We cannot live in past and there is always tomorrow. Time heals pain. We have to accept change and move on. Margaret Mitchell described all these things in these beautiful story.

I really liked this book and i have rated it as 4.5/5 stars (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1800817103?book_show_action=false)

Book Review: The Underground Railroad

Blurb Cora is a slave on a cotton plantation in Georgia. All the slaves lead a hellish existence, but Cora has it worse than the most; an outcast even among her fellow Africans, she is approaching womanhood where it is clear that even greater pain awaits. When Caesar, a slave recently arrived from Virginia, tells her about the Underground Railroad, they take the perilous decision to escape the North.   In Whitehead's razor-sharp imagining of the antebellum South, the Underground Railroad has assumed a physical form: a dilapidated box-car pulled along subterranean tracks by a steam locomotive, picking up fugitives wherever it can. Thus Cora embarks on a harrowing journey, seeking true freedom, pursued relentlessly by a terrifying slave catcher named Ridgeway.  As Whitehead brilliantly recreates the unique terrors for black people in the pre-Civil War era, his narrative seamlessly weaves the saga of America, from the brutal importation of Africa...
